Where it came from, what we did to it

A Japanese Nintendo GameCube in the early DOL-001 revision — the one with the Digital AV Out port, compatible with component cables and HDMI adapters like the Carby and GCVideo line, plus dual serial ports on the bottom. A hardware region selector switch has been installed at the rear vent (the console is otherwise stock), so it plays both US and Japanese retail game discs; set the switch to match the game's region, and only toggle it while the console is powered off. Powers on, boots, and plays discs from both regions. Sold as the bare console — no controller, power supply, AV cables, or memory card — and no games or copyrighted data are included; it plays genuine retail discs only.

Flaws we found

  • Shell has scuffs and scratches throughout
  • Some yellowing on the memory card slot doors

Each of these is photographed on the listing. The photos are the contract.
